This type of hair style is best suited for thick, straight hair.  Notice that all layers are medium length, with the ends just past the neck line.  Hair is layered throughout to help it lay just right. 

To achieve this style, apply a styling gel or cream throughout the hair and blow dry the hair using a large paddle brush.  Direct all layers down and under.

Styling cream will help to keep all the layers in place, especially if you have thick unmanageable hair.
