8.  What sort of maintenance requirements are there and what are the costs?  I.e. come back to the salon every 2-4 weeks for fill ins, etc. 

Daoudi: When properly applied, Xtreme Lashes™ last for up to two months with fill-ins done every 2 to 4 weeks. 

A natural lash typically sheds every 60 to 90 days and is replaced with the growth of a new eyelash.  Since Xtreme Lashes™ are applied one by one to each individual hair, after 2-4 weeks, approximately 1/3 of the lashes will have cycled out.  At this point, fill-ins are required to replace the lashes that have completed their life cycle.  Fill-ins normally take 45 minutes to 1 hour to complete. 

9.  What can go wrong with the eyelash extensions?  Can anyone have all of their eyelashes fall out, go blind, etc.

 Daoudi: Under the hands of an untrained, inexperienced professional, many things can go wrong.  An unsafe adhesive may be used, causing damage to the eye.  Lashes may be glued together, potentially harming the client’s natural lashes.  The technician may not be dexterous enough to use tweezers near the client’s eyes. 

Untrained technicians have been known to apply lashes with the client’s eyes open, which introduces the possibility of adhesive entering into the eye.  This method is contradictory to the method Xtreme Lashes™ uses in which the client reclines comfortably with his/her eyes closed. 

 In an effort to promote safety in the eyelash extensions industry, Xtreme Lashes™ REQUIRES training.  Our professionals are trained to use safe methods which will not harm the client.  Consumers are advised to visit only those technicians who are trained and certified with a reputable company. 

10.   How long do the eyelash extensions last before they must be completely removed?  What happens if you don't remove them? 

Daoudi: When applied and maintained properly, your Xtreme Lashes™ can last up to 2 months depending on the natural growth cycle of your eyelashes and how well you maintain them.  The life cycle of an eyelash is 60 to 90 days.  Lashes will shed naturally at the end of their life cycle and fill ins will be necessary every 2 to 4 weeks to replace the fallen lashes.  There is no need to remove them.

11.  What is the average cost for the consumer to get eyelash extensions?

Daoudi:  Prices currently range between $250 and $600 for a full set of Xtreme Lashes™ depending on the area of the country and experience of the technician.  A full set would be anywhere from 35 to 50 lashes per eye, depending on the size of the client’s eye and the number of natural lashes he/she may have.  Lighter sets of eyelash extensions (such as 20 lashes per eye for minimal added fullness) and individual fill-ins cost substantially less and typically depend on how many lashes are applied per eye.
